Manager – Abbotsford, Smithers, Terrace & Prince Rupert Offices

The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Manager to join our growing firm in our Abbotsford, Smithers, Terrace, or Prince Rupert. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of public practice experience and be dedicated to growing with our firm. As a Manager, you will work closely with clients, managers, and partners, providing tax and assurance services in our diverse, fast-paced, paperless environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and review various engagements, including compilations, CRA reviews, personal taxes, trusts and estates, and review engagements.
  • Provide mentorship and formal training to CPA students and staff, both in-office and remotely via Microsoft Teams, supporting their professional growth.
  • Work closely with partners from all offices on special tasks and engagements, ensuring consistency in quality control and efficient scheduling. Collaborate with partners to plan, assign roles, schedule staff, and meet deadlines.
  • Build strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service while identifying opportunities to add value and maximize the client experience.
  • Maintain high quality control by reviewing team members’ work for accuracy and completeness, providing constructive feedback to ensure professional quality.
  • Monitor project timelines, adjust as necessary, and keep clients informed of project statuses, resolving discrepancies to meet deadlines.
  • Take a leadership role in networking within the local business and professional community to raise awareness of Vohora LLP and identify new business development opportunities.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to improve work processes, enhancing firm efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Coach and develop team members professionally, conducting formal annual performance reviews to assess progress and set goals.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, colleagues, and the leadership team, ensuring clear communication and strong working relationships.
  • Be available to work full-time in the office with occasional remote work flexibility.


What You Will Bring:

  • Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with 4-5 years of relevant public accounting experience, including expertise in tax compliance, tax planning, and preparing personal and corporate tax returns
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in general tax compliance, tax planning, CRA compliance, and reviews, with additional experience in review engagements or audits under ASPE and ASNPO considered an asset
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, understand their business needs, and generate revenue
  • Experience managing staff, delegating tasks, and meeting with clients to provide excellent service
  • Proficient in accounting and tax software (e.g., Caseware, Taxprep, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting), with strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting demands
  • Professional experience in a public accounting firm is required
  • Some travel may be required


Salary
: $80,000 – $110,000 per year

Audit Senior Accountant - Terrace, Smithers & Prince Rupert Offices

The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Audit Senior Accountant to join our team in Terrace, Smithers, or Prince Rupert. In this role, you will actively contribute to the success of the firm by managing audit engagements, preparing financial statements, and mentoring junior staff. You will work directly with managers and partners, ensuring high-quality service in a fast-paced, paperless environment.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare Compilation and Review Engagement financial statements and corporate tax returns
  • Assist on Audit Engagements by reviewing audit testing, planning documents, and preparing complex sections of the audit file
  • Prepare financial statements under ASPE, ASNPO, IFRS, or PSAB
  • Support Managers in assigning, reviewing, and training junior staff, as well as assisting with client accounting and bookkeeping needs
  • Prepare personal tax returns and meet with clients to review their returns
  • Perform tax research, prepare technical memos and letters, and provide exceptional service to clients
  • Participate in team objectives and contribute to the growth of the firm


What You Will Bring:

Executive Assistant – Surrey Office

The Role:

We are seeking a full-time Executive Assistant to join our administrative team in our South Surrey office. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with a positive, professional attitude. As an Executive Assistant, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the founding Partner in our fast-paced, paperless environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to partners, managers, and staff, including calendar management, travel arrangements, meeting coordination, and communication with clients
  • Prepare, edit, and maintain various documents, including correspondence, reports, presentations, and confidential files
  • Monitor critical client filing deadlines and ensure timely submission of all required documentation
  • Oversee the billing process, prepare invoices, and maintain accurate client records
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, resolving issues and escalating complex matters to the appropriate team members or partner
  • Assist with special projects, coordinate internal and external events, and provide tailored support to the partner
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and summaries for the principal team, and manage basic IT troubleshooting and communication with IT support

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience providing high-level administrative support, preferably in an accounting firm
  • Administrative Assistant Certificate or Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate is recommended
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible and available to work overtime as required
  • Able to work in a confidential environment with complete discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; familiarity with accounting software is an asset
